PTA Events & Community Celebrations
Building community is at the heart of the Joaquin Miller experience. Throughout the year, our PTA organizes events that bring families together, support our school, and create lasting memories for our students.
Major Annual Events
Joaq-a-thon – October 4, 2025
Our fun, family-friendly event where students walk laps around the school to raise funds for essential programs and activities. This exciting weekend celebration combines fitness, community spirit, and support for our school. Kids enjoy games, activities, and the excitement of reaching their fundraising goals together.
Trunk-or-Treat – October 25, 2025
Our annual Halloween celebration brings families together for a safe, fun evening of trick-or-treating right on our beautiful new playground! Family volunteers decorate their car trunks with creative themes while kids enjoy games, activities, and collecting treats in a festive community atmosphere.
Benefit and Bash – March 13, 2026
Our premier fundraising event! This elegant evening celebration features a live auction, entertainment, food, drinks, and community connection—raising the vast majority of funds that make possible our art, music, library, tutoring, and enrichment programs that benefit every JM student.
Spring Fling – May 16, 2026
Celebrate the end of another amazing school year with our festive Spring Fling! This carnival-style event features games, activities, food, and fun for the whole family as we come together to celebrate our students’ achievements and look forward to summer.
Pancake Breakfasts – Fall and Spring
Join us for delicious community pancake breakfasts hosted by our PTA volunteers. These cozy morning gatherings are perfect opportunities for families to connect over a hot breakfast while supporting our school. All are welcome!
JM Parties – All year long
JM Parties are a long-standing tradition at our school that put the FUN in fundraiser! Families, teachers, even principals have come together to create fun-filled experiences for our students or parent/guardians (or both) as a creative way to support our school.
Additional Community Events
Community Dinners – All Year Long
Community Dinners are an easy way to support our school by eating out at some of our local favorites. Generally speaking, a percentage of your purchase (5 – 15%) will be donated to our school. We will update this page once these nights are solidified!

Affinity Group Gatherings
JM affinity groups serve as a voice for all the many different communities within our overall school community. All affinity groups are independently led by JM parents and guardians. Joining an Affinity Group is a great way to find connections and build a supportive community at JM! Most of our affinity groups hold regular events for members.
